Code of practice now in effect
The Victorian Government’s Code of Practice for the Keeping of Racing Greyhounds is now in effect as from 1 January 2020.

Extra Code Support at Clubs
GRV staff will be in attendance at race meetings over the next two weeks to provide extra support to participants struggling with their Code compliance obligations. Participants who need help are strongly encouraged to attend one of the race meetings listed below.

Rehydration critical after exercise
Greyhounds generally aren’t great drinkers however rehydration is critical after exercise. It is important for inexperienced greyhound participants transporting greyhounds from the Ready 2 Race Sales to understand the importance of hydration and to come prepared with a generous amount of fresh, cool water and a drinking bowl.

Kennel Return gets an upgrade on FastTrack
FastTrack’s Kennel Return process has been upgraded with extra functions that will enable participants to better manage the greyhounds in their care and help meet their record keeping obligations under the new Code of Practice which comes into effect on 1 January 2020.
