Greyhound Racing Victoria has updated its Penalty Guidelines for greyhound welfare offences.
Welcome to the May edition of Greyhound Monthly Victoria. A major development in April was the release of the final version of the Code of Practice for the Keeping of Racing Greyhounds, developed by the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) and which is posted at agriculture.vic.gov.au/pets/dogs/greyhounds/code-of-practice.
To assist participants in compliance with LR42.6, new template forms are now available on the GRV Greyhound Care + Standards webpage, please visit greyhoundcare.grv.org.au/new-local-rule-42-6/. The new forms should be used if seeking a medical or behavioural exception from re-homing requirements. Please see the LR42.6 Factsheet and FAQ’s for more information.
The Victorian State Government has released an update to the Code of Practice for the Keeping of Racing Greyhounds which comes into effect from January 2020.
We’ve been treated to some great racing over the past month, especially at the Australia Cup Carnival where Hecton Bale won the Cup in great style and signalled that he could be the sport’s next big star.

Welcome to the March edition of the Monthly. We’ve had some great racing over February as the Australian Cup Carnival got underway, including the Temlee, Rookie Rebel and Zoom Top where Fanta Bale equalled Fernando Bale’s record eight Group 1 victories.
One month into the new year and the 2018 racing calendar is well and truly underway with the Warragul and Traralgon legs of the second annual Gippsland Carnival, building on the success of the inaugural event last year.
