Discounted De-Sexing Offered by Veterinary Clinics

Home » Re-homing » Discounted De-Sexing Offered by Veterinary Clinics

De-sexing your greyhound on retirement is an important step in maximising the chances of your greyhound being re-homed. GRV highly recommends that de-sexing is undertaken as soon as possible after the decision to retire has been made.

De-sexing has many benefits. Behavioural benefits include a reduction in a greyhound’s tendency to be overly boisterous or show low-level aggression towards other dogs, while health benefits include a reduction in the risk of developing some reproductive diseases and cancers, and in male dogs, prostate issues.

For more information on the benefits of de-sexing refer to the GRV De-Sexing Fact Sheet, click here.

There are many veterinary clinics in Victoria or inter-state near the Victorian border, willing to provide discounts to Victorian registered participants and re-homing groups for the de-sexing of greyhounds. These clinics also offer discounts for other greyhound procedures including dental and vaccinations. Below is a list of these clinics.

It is important that you contact the clinic directly to discuss pricing and to arrange a booking. Please note that GRV plays no role in arranging appointments, the actual surgery or financial transactions.
