Home » Greyhound Participant Support

Working in the sport of greyhound racing means many unique challenges that don’t exist anywhere else. It’s a passionate job; on a good day extremely rewarding but on other days it can be a real challenge.

This is a sport that requires care and attention every day; and not just to the dogs. Your mental health and wellbeing are vital.

Greyhound Participant Support, or GPS, is now available to you.

GRV is providing this program free-of-charge for all participants – and their families – who wish to take advantage of psychological counselling services.

Confidential 24 hr support for all Greyhound registered Participants
and their immediate family members.

Access EAP (www.accesseap.com.au) is the independent professional counselling service providing Greyhound Participant Support services to Victorian participants and their families.  All Access EAP counsellors are members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and have a minimum of 5 years post-graduate supervised clinical experience, ensuring high quality assistance with issues including:

  • Physical and mental wellbeing
  • Interpersonal conflicts
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Financial and legal concerns

Phone support is available 24/7 and in-person counselling can also be organised.

No personal or identifying information will be shared so you can be confident that all consultations are 100% private and confidential.
