Prosecutions Overview
Victorian Racing Tribunal
Gregory Schofield – VRT Appeal 28 September 2023 – GAR 169(5)(c), Mr Schofield appealed GRV’s decision to suspend Mr Schofield’s licence for an indefinite period pending the outcome of an inquiry. The VRT dismissed the appeal.
Hubertus Wetzels – VRT Hearing 13 September 2023 – LR14.3.1, 14.3.3, 42.9(a) & 42.9(c), Between 2017 and 2022, Mr Wetzels failed to notify GRV of the deaths of five (5) greyhounds within two working days, and failed to obtain approval to bury the deceased greyhounds on his property. Mr Wetzels pleaded guilty to all charges. The VRT imposed a total suspension period of 6 months, wholly suspended for 24 months, in addition to a $1000 fine.
