Greyhound status and movement requirements

May 27, 2022

Helpful information and acknowledgement of industry working together on greyhound welfare

GRV would like to thank participants who are meeting their obligations as outlined in the Code of Practice and Rules of Racing by notifying GRV of the movement and status of greyhounds through their life cycle, via GRV’s MyFastTrack app or FastTrack portal.

GRV’s Greyhound Racing Integrity Unit (GRIU) engages with participants through emails, SMS messages and property visits, to provide education and assisted compliance with these obligations.

It is the GRIU’s preference to assist participants so that they are able to comply, however repeated non-compliance could incur penalties.

Helpful information and tips:

  • Owners should support the person caring for their greyhound/s to comply by providing race name (if named), ear brand and microchip details prior to or when the greyhound/s arrive at the person in charge’s property.
  • The person in charge should ensure that they have these details on hand when the greyhound/s arrive to ensure they can complete the required kennel returns promptly. Both ear brand and microchip details are required for all activities when completing a kennel return, plus race name if named.
  • It is the responsibility of participants and not Veterinary Clinics to provide GRV with certificates or other records as required by the Rules and Code. It is recommended that participants obtain copies of all relevant veterinary documentation and contact GRV to ensure that these records have been received.

SEEKING ASSISTANCE?

For general enquiries about updating location details, GRV’s Participant Support Line is available to assist on 1300 144 360 or email [email protected]. If you have any questions or difficulty after receiving an email from the GRIU about updating your greyhounds’ details, please email [email protected] or contact 1300 192 597 where you can leave a message and someone will reply as soon as possible.
