There is a registration process that you must follow when breeding.
A female to be used for breeding must be registered with Greyhound Racing Victoria. There are penalties if an unregistered Dam whelps a litter.
Be aware that the pink card breeding rules have recently been introduced, so please click here for information.
It is the responsibility of the stud master to register with Greyhound Racing Victoria when a service has taken place. This must be done within 14 days of the service taking place. Penalties apply if the service lodgement is late.
It is the responsibility of the breeder to register the result of mating with Greyhound Racing Victoria. This must be done within 14 days of the whelping. Penalties apply if the result of mating notification is late.
Once the result of mating has been lodged with Greyhound Racing Victoria, it is the breeders responsibility to ensure the pups are micro-chipped and ear-branded. GRV will notify you of the Ear-brander that has been assigned to your pups. You will have to contact the Ear-brander and arrange a time for them to come and mark the pups.
The breeder must send to Greyhound Racing Victoria the vaccination certificates for each pup for the 6 week and 16 week vaccinations.
