The past financial year has seen a lot of change and progress in many areas across Victorian greyhound racing. This change has encompassed everything from amended racing rules to significant increases in stake money and breeding sustainability, major infrastructure works and the consolidation and strengthening of GRV’s animal welfare and integrity capabilities.
As we approach the end of the financial year, I think it’s important to note that all of the Perna and Milne Report recommendations that were GRV’s responsibility are now implemented.
Please take note that from 1 July 2018 the forms issued by GRV for use if seeking a medical or behavioural exception from re-homing requirements under Local Rule 42.6, will be MANDATORY for compliance.

Welcome to the May edition of Greyhound Monthly Victoria. A major development in April was the release of the final version of the Code of Practice for the Keeping of Racing Greyhounds, developed by the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) and which is posted at agriculture.vic.gov.au/pets/dogs/greyhounds/code-of-practice.
To assist participants in compliance with LR42.6, new template forms are now available on the GRV Greyhound Care + Standards webpage, please visit greyhoundcare.grv.org.au/new-local-rule-42-6/. The new forms should be used if seeking a medical or behavioural exception from re-homing requirements. Please see the LR42.6 Factsheet and FAQ’s for more information.
